Rose Paintings

I thought for this post I might share some beautiful Rose Paintings that I have in my home.  Roses are my favorite flower and I just can't seem to get enough of them.  Hope you enjoy!

To start things off, though, here is a free image for you to download and use.  Catherine Klein is one of my favorite Rose Painters, and these roses are just gorgeous!!

My husband and I did this painting together.  I painted the roses and sketched the lettering, then he painted the lettering for me.  He has such a steady hand!

This painting was done by my sweet husband, Roland, at my request.

This is a rose that I painted.  I enjoyed adding the ribbon, lace and jewels.

My kitchen is cabinets are done like this with different rose paintings my husband did for me.

Seashells & Roses

Today I want to focus on the Beach Chic side of my home.  I recently redecorated the living room, dining room, and small downstairs bathroom in this style.  I absolutely adore pink, but I decided to give it a change and paint everything off-white.  We have faux-finished a lot of furniture to lighten them up too.  I wanted a beach/nautical theme, but I still had to have my pink so there are plenty of pictures with roses and lovely ladies and couples mixed in.

My gift to you today is a vintage postcard with roses and a pretty ship-at-sea graphic to be used however you wish. Just Right Click on the image and Save.  You can see how I used them in the pictures below.

 

 

Both the chair and the table in this image were dark brown wood.  

The faux finish really cheered them up! 

 

 

Here is a before and after picture of the table.  I really didn't like it that much when it was brown wood, but now I wouldn't part with it!

 

I love using doilies and lace in my decorating as well as ornate frames.

Once Upon A Dream

I am starting off with a set of pictures from a wall in my home.  First off is a gorgeous free public domain image for you to use in your own way. Just Right Click on the image and Save. This is a slightly modified version of a Hans Zatzka painting.  He is one of my favorite artists.  You can see how I used it myself below.

 

This beautiful ornate frame was a gift from my sweet sister-in-law, Hope.

I wanted to spruce up my switch plates, so to save a little money, I decided to faux finish them in a recent redecorating project.  I found the ornamental wood piece at Hobby Lobby here.  The how-to is in a picture below if you'd like to try this yourself.
